Vida was established in 2007 by Carmen Beaumont. Carmen had previously worked as a solo practitioner since 2003. Carmen was born in a Central American war-torn country where she experienced firsthand how wars can impact a person’s physical and mental wellbeing. In 1987 she migrated to Australia with her family as a political refugee. Those early experiences resulted in Carmen wanting to do something where she could make a difference in people’s lives. In 2003 when Carmen embarked on this journey, she realised that to help as many people as possible she would need to form strong relationships with various health professionals. This proved to be very challenging as Carmen found a general lack of collaboration and responsiveness among the myriad of available services. In 2007 Carmen decided to create a team that shared her passions, beliefs and values and so Vida Psychology was established. In Spanish ‘Vida’ means ‘Life’. It is our mission to empower people so they can have meaningful lives.
Since then Vida has expanded by offering services to infants, children, adolescent and adults from all walks of life. The vibrant, diverse and dynamic team embodies the early roots of Vida Psychology and is carrying it into the future.
We are grateful and humbled to be in a position to help individuals. Thank you for trusting Vida in making a difference in your life!
Vida Psychology will give you the opportunity to not only explore and gain understanding of your circumstances, but most importantly, to learn tools and strategies to overcome and manage them, now and in the future. You will be actively involved in your therapy and will be invited to give feedback in a supportive, non-judgemental and friendly environment, empowering you with your treatment.
